Good morning! You’ll hopefully forgive me for breaking with tradition today, but it has been quite a busy 10 days or so. I took my first ever trip to the Brimfield Antique market last week *cough* that might be the reason I missed
one, er, two posts. Today instead of the Monogram Challenge, take a look at the photos from Silver Magpies at Brimfield.
You will undoubtedly notice a lack of silver! It’s not that there wasn’t any, there was plenty. On the first day I picked up a piece or two, one of which is very special indeed and will be revealed at a later date. There was just so much else to see.
I went to Brimfield at the invitation of The Daily Basics, for whom I write a regular column about vintage silver (the latest was on American Coin Silver). This was a double thrill for me, because in addition to the market itself, I had the opportunity to meet a number of people face-to-face that I usually only connect with via Twitter. To dip into Twitter-speak for a moment…it was fab to meet my tweeps IRL!
Despite the incredible rain the vendors were out in force and so were the tweeps. I had a fantastic time wandering through the fields, was very glad I had my wellies, and it was probably lucky I didn’t have any more money with me, as I think my car would have exploded if I had tried to fit one more thing into it.
I’m trying some new technology here today…embedding a photo album that lives on Silver Magpies Facebook Page onto my site. If all goes as planned you should see the album below. Clicking on an individual photo should enlarge it. To see the captions on each photo or to leave a comment on a photo, you have to view it via Facebook. Again, fingers crossed, you should be able to see a “view on Facebook” link. I have no idea if people without a Facebook account would be able to access the comment function.
Please leave me some comments, here, there and everywhere. I’d love to know if I actually made all the connections work properly!
